Could Blockchain make gym memberships easier to use across multiple fitness studios?

Most gyms and fitness studios already use QR codes, mobile apps, or membership cards to manage access. But things become more complicated when someone wants to visit different gyms under one membership.

I have been thinking about whether blockchain technology, particularly smart contracts on Conflux, could offer a practical solution.

For example, a shared digital membership could allow participating gyms to verify whether someone has an active pass without maintaining separate membership records at every location.

However, there are a few challenges worth discussing:

  • How would expired or canceled memberships be handled?
  • Could gyms verify access without exposing personal or fitness data?
  • Would blockchain actually offer an advantage over existing membership management systems?
  • What happens if a gym’s internet connection goes down?

I am curious to hear from developers and blockchain enthusiasts here.

Would a blockchain-based gym membership system be genuinely useful, or would it add unnecessary complexity to something existing technology already handles well?
