Integration Grants Application '25: JAM

Application Introduction

Name of the project : JAM

Problem statement in the existing Conflux ecosystem and the proposed solution:

Problem: Conflux users currently face high friction when trying to use their on-chain assets (CFX, USDT) in the real world. To spend assets, they must bridge to other chains or deposit into centralized exchanges (CEX), which drains liquidity from the Conflux ecosystem and forces users to surrender custody.

Solution: JAM is a non-custodial crypto debit card that allows users to spend assets directly from their self-custody wallets. We provide a seamless off-ramp at the Point of Sale, allowing Conflux users to buy coffee, groceries, or pay rent using their eSpace directly.

Alignment of the project with the Conflux Network:

Benefit to the Conflux Ecosystem: JAM transforms Conflux from a trading/DeFi ecosystem into a “Daily Driver” for payments. By integrating Conflux eSpace, we provide developers and users with immediate real-world utility for their tokens. This “spendability” acts as a powerful magnet for new users who want crypto that actually works in daily life.

Economic benefit:

TVL Retention: Users keep funds on Conflux until the exact moment of purchase, rather than cashing out to banks in advance.
Transaction Volume: Daily spending generates consistent, high-frequency transaction volume on Conflux eSpace (payment approvals, gas fees).

Demonstrate a competitive edge that differentiates it from other projects

Most competitors (Bybit Card, Crypto.com) are custodial and restrict users to low daily limits (~$300).
JAM’s Edge:

Non-Custodial: Users keep their keys.
High Limits: Up to $20,000 daily spend for active users (ideal for high-net-worth individuals).
Frictionless: “Email-only” onboarding lowers the barrier for mass adoption.

Technical Introduction
Functional goals paired with reasons for development

Goal: Full integration of Conflux eSpace (EVM) into the JAM mobile wallet core.

Reason: To enable direct, non-custodial spending of CRC-20 tokens.

Feasibility: Our internal team has already successfully integrated 15+ EVM networks. Integrating eSpace is highly feasible given our existing EVM infrastructure.

Existing solutions vs. Feasibility Existing solutions are either centralized (CEX cards) or lack support for the Conflux network. JAM fills this gap.

Purpose of the system To serve as a decentralized settlement bridge that verifies on-chain Conflux balances and authorizes fiat transactions on the Visa/Mastercard network in real-time.

Scope of the system

RPC Integration: Connecting JAM nodes to Conflux eSpace.
Indexing: Tracking CFX and CRC-20 token balances (USDT, USDC).

Settlement Relayer: A “Gasless” transaction relayer to facilitate spending.

Objectives and success criteria

Objective: Enable a user to buy a coffee using CFX/USDT on Conflux eSpace via the JAM physical card.

Success Criteria: 2,000 active beta transactions processed on the Conflux network.

Definitions, acronyms, and abbreviations

eSpace: Conflux’s EVM-compatible execution layer.

CRC-20: Token standard on Conflux.

Settlement Engine: The backend logic that locks crypto and releases fiat.

Technical Proposal
Functional overview of your system The JAM system is built on a “Hub-and-Spoke” non-custodial architecture:

Mobile Core (Spoke): The user’s mobile app holds the private keys (encrypted locally). It utilizes WalletConnect or internal key management to sign transactions.

Conflux Provider: A module within the app that communicates specifically with Conflux eSpace RPCs to fetch balances and broadcast transactions.

Settlement Engine (Hub): When a user swipes their card, the card network pings our Settlement Engine. The Engine checks the user’s Conflux wallet balance via an indexer. If sufficient funds exist, it locks the crypto on-chain and approves the fiat transaction instantly.

Non-functional overview

Usability: We implement “Gasless” relayers so users can pay transaction fees in stablecoins (USDT) instead of needing CFX for gas.

Reliability: Our indexers maintain 99.9% uptime to ensure card swipes are never declined due to network latency.

Performance: Transaction finality on Conflux eSpace is fast, allowing for near-instant Point-of-Sale approvals (<2 seconds).

Implementation & User Interface The solution is implemented in React Native (iOS/Android) for the client side, with Rust/Go backend relayers. The UI is designed for “Web2” simplicity—featuring simple “Top Up,” “Swap,” and “Card Settings” screens, hiding the complexity of chain interactions.

Total Budget
Grant Size $20,000 (USDT/CFX)

Justification We are requesting funds to accelerate the specific technical integration of Conflux eSpace into our existing beta product.
