Conflux Tethys Network will be upgraded at Epoch 3,615,000 at about 15:30 (GMT+8) on Dec. 11, 2020. Please make sure to upgrade the node in advance. Developers using the official Tethys RPC will not be affected.
The latest program release to run nodes can be downloaded here:
Upgrade Content:
Incompatible changes:
- From Epoch 3,615,000, the basic block reward will be reduced to 2 CFX per block.
- Blocks starting from the block height of 3,615,000 must set their custom field in the header to be [1].
Improvements:
- Add config parameter executive_trace to allow storing block execution traces. (Default is set to false)
- Add config parameter enable_tracing to allow public access to trace_* RPC APIs. (Default is set to false)
- Add new RPC trace_block for archive/full nodes. (Only works for blocks processed after setting executive_trace)
- Return custom field in the block header for related RPCs (cfx_getBlockByHash, cfx_getBlockByHashWithPivotAssumption, cfx_getBlockByEpochNumber)
- Set 0 as default for storage limit in cfx_sendTransaction and cfx_signTransaction
Bug Fixes:
- Change the “blame” field returned from the newHeads pub-sub to hex
- Fix an issue where the logs pub-sub API would skip logs
- Fix an issue where if miners submit the nonce solution to multiple nodes, some of these nodes may stop mining. (Issue #1985)
What should I do as a node operator/miner?
-
If you have upgraded the node before 15:30 (GMT+8) on Dec. 11, 2020 (Epoch 3,615,000), please change the executable file named “conflux” under the run subdirectory in the node program into the new “conflux” file located in the Conflux v1.1.0 node program, and then restart.
-
If you upgrade the node after 15:30 (GMT+8) on Dec. 11, 2020 (Epoch 3,615,000), you need to delete all the data and synchronize again.
-
If you have not started a node before, you can download the latest version, Conflux v1.1.0, and start it directly.
What will happen if I do not upgrade my node or miss this upgrade?
If you do not upgrade to the latest version or miss this upgrade, the node will be incompatible with the newest Conflux Network protocol and it cannot normally interact with the Conflux Tethys Network (e.g. synchronize blocks, mining, etc.).
How will normal users be influenced?
The upgrade will not affect Conflux Network’s normal usage. It is recommended to avoid operation during the upgrade to prevent asset loss, potentially induced by an unstable network and higher chances of delayed operation.
It is also suggested that exchanges connected to Conflux stop withdrawal and deposit for at least 24 hours until the network is stable.
